Icardi: Absent from
the Argentine national team Good for Messi
Lionel Messi's
compatriot Mauro Icardi stated that the Barcelona star had to take a break from
international football. According to Icardi, Messi must spend more time with
his family before deciding his future in Argentina's National Team (National
Team).
Understandably, Messi was widely rumored to retire
from international football since Argentina's failure in the 2018 World Cup.
Argentina's poor performances at the 2018 World Cup did make Messi quite hit.
Because, Messi's biggest
goal throughout his career was to win the World Cup with Argentina. In fact,
Messi also once expressed willingness to exchange all the trophies he got with
Barcelona for a World Cup trophy with Argentina.
In addition to stating
that Messi had to take a break from international football, Icardi also praised
the quality of the Barcelona player. Icardi even admitted that he had
difficulty working with Messi because the Barcelona player was at a different
level.
"It's weird, but
it's good for Lionel (Messi) to rest even if someone else doesn't accept it
well. We talk and try (work together) in practice, but I haven't found a
perfect partnership with him (Messi). He is the number one person in the world,
"Icardi said, as reported by Express, Saturday (8/9/2018).
Despite appearing
without Messi, Argentina can still win a landslide victory 3-0 over Guatemala
at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Stadium on Saturday (8/9/2018), in an
international friendly. The three Argentine goals were scored by Gonzalo
Martinez (27 '), Giovani Lo Celso (35') and Giovani Simeone (44 ').
