History of alun alun jember
Jember Regency is a regency in East Java Province, Indonesia which is capitalized in Jember. It
is adjacent to Probolinggo and Bondowoso regencies in the north,
Banyuwangi regency in the east, Indian Ocean in the south, and Lumajang
regency in the west. Jember Regency consists of 31 districts.The city of Jember was an administrative city, but since 2001 the administrative municipality was abolished, so the Administrative City of Jember was again a part of Jember Regency. Jember is a regional center in the eastern horseshoe area. The anniversary of Jember Regency is commemorated every January 1st.

Jember District was established based on Staatsbland No. 322 dated August 9, 1928 and as the legal basis came into force on 1 January 1929. The Dutch East Indies Government issued a regulation on the rearrangement of decentralized government in East Java Province by appointing Regenschap Djember as a legal unity community stand-alone. Officially the provision is published by the General Secretary of the Dutch East Indies Government (De Aglemeene Secretaris) G.R. Erdbrink, August 21, 1928.The Government of Regenschap Jember originally divided into seven District Areas, on January 1, 1929 since the entry into force of Staatsbland no. 46/1941 dated 1 March 1941 The District District was divided into 25 Onderdistricts, namely:
Jember District, covering the onderdistrik Jember, Wirolegi, and Arjasa.
Kalisat District, covering the districts of Kalisat, Ledokombo, Sumberjambe, and Sukowono.
Rambipuji District, covering Rambipuji, Panti, Mangli, and Jenggawah districts.
Mayang District, covering the Mayang, Silo, Mumbulsari and Tempurejo districts.
The Tanggul District includes the Tanggul, Sumberbaru, and Bangsalsari districts.
Puger District, covering Puger district, Kencong Gumukmas, and Umbulsari.
Wuluhan District, covering Wuluhan, Ambulu and Balung districts.Based on Law no. 12/1950 on the Regional Government of the Regency in East Java, established the formation of District Areas within the East Java Province (with Perda), among others Jember District is set to Jember Regency.Based on Government Regulation No. 14 of 1976 dated April 19, 1976, the City of Jember was established with the arrangement of new territories as follows:

Wirolegi Sub-district became Pakusari Sub-district and Mangli Sub-district became Sukorambi Sub-District.Along with the establishment of the Administrative City of Jember, Jember Kewedanan region also shifted from Jember to Arjasa with work areas including Arjasa, Pakusari, and Sukowono who previously entered Kalisat District. With these changes, in the next development, administratively Jember Regency at that time was divided into seven Regent Assistant Areas, one area of Administrative City, and 31 District.With the enactment of Regional Autonomy since January 1, 2001 as a claim No. 22/1999 on Regional Government, the Government of Jember Regency has conducted institutional arrangements and organizational structures, including the removal of the Bupati's Assistant Institution which is now the Coordination Office of the Camat. Furthermore, in running the wheels of government in the era of Regional Autonomy, the Government of Jember Regency is assisted by four Coordination Offices of the Sub-district Head, namely:

The Coordination Office of East Jember Subdistrict in KalisatGeographyJember has an area of 3,293.34 km2 with an altitude between 0 - 3.330 masl. Climate Jember Regency is tropical with temperature range between 23oC - 32oC. The southern part of Jember Regency is the lowlands with the outermost point is Barong Island. In this area there is Meru Betiri National Park which is adjacent to the administrative area of Banyuwangi regency. The north-west (bordering Probolinggo is the mountains, part of the Iyang Mountains, with the peak of Mount Argopuro (3,088 m) .The eastern part is part of the Ijen Highlands, with several rivers such as Bedadung River from Iyang Mountain in the Middle, Mayang River which source from Raung Mountains in the east, and Bondoyudo River which is sourced from Semeru Mountain in the west.Administration

Jember Station is the largest station in this regency, and is the center of Daops IX Jember which arranges stations from Pasuruan to Banyuwangi. In addition to other small stations in the Embankment, Rambipuji, and Kalisat. Jember is crossed by the railway line, which connects Jember with other cities in Java Island, namely Purwokerto, Yogyakarta, Jombang, Surabaya, Probolinggo, Lumajang, and Banyuwangi. In Jember there are also small stations such as Bangsalsari, Mangli, Arjasa, Kotok, Ledokombo, Sempolan, Garahan. This station is only used when crossing rail and only used by economic train such as Probowangi (Probolinggo-Banyuwangi) and Pandanwangi train (Jember - Banyuwangi). The Kalisat-Situbondo railway line is now out of operation.
Bus Terminal "TAWANG ALUN" is the main terminal serving Surabaya - Jember - Banyuwangi line(Via Kencong - Balung and or Ambulu) which also pass through Lumajang city. This terminal also serves Patas Bus lines (fast limited) Jember - Yogya, Jember - Surabaya, Jember - Malang, and Jember - Denpasar. For the Jember - Bondowoso - Situbondo line is served by "ARJASA" Bus Terminal located in Arjasa District. Recently, in Ambulu sub-district, located in southern Jember also built Terminal, which provides Ambulu-Jombang-Lumajang-Pasuruan-Surabaya and Malang. In addition there are also small terminals connected by inter-city transport (Lyn) such as Ajung Terminal, Pakusari Terminal, and Terminal Tanggul. The City Bus can be found in Jember City that connects the Tawang Alun Terminal - Arjasa Terminal (Route Code "A" and "B") and Tawang Alun Terminal - Pakusari Terminal (Code Route "D" and "E"). Taxi service with the taxi is also found in this city.
Notohadinegoro Airport is a local airport that has been opened to the public. The airport serves Jember - Surabaya P.P.PopulationThe majority of the population of Jember District consists of the Javanese and Madurese tribes, and most are Muslims. In addition there are Chinese and Osing Tribe. The average population of jember is the immigrant community, the dominant Madurese tribe in Jember resides in the north and the Java Tribe resides in the south and coastal areas. The Javanese and Madurese languages are used in many places, so it is common for people in Jember to master the two languages of the region as well as their mutual influence to bring up some typical Jember phrases. The mixing of both Javanese and Madura cultures in Jember Regency gave birth to a new culture called Pendalungan culture. The Pemalungan community in Jember has unique characteristics as a result of the penetration of both cultures. The Art of Macanan Canal is a result of the culture of Pendalungan society that still survive until now in Jember district. Jember has 2,329,929 inhabitants(JDA, BPS 2011) with an average density of 707.47 people / km2.EconomyWith most of the population still working as farmers, the economy of Jember is still widely supported from the agricultural sector. In Jember there are many plantation areas, mostly Dutch heritage. The existing plantations are managed by the National Company of PTP Nusantara, Tarutama Nusantara (TTN), and the Regional Company is PDP (Perusahaan Daerah Perkebunan). Jember is famous as one of the main tobacco producing areas in Indonesia. Jember tobacco is a tobacco used as an outer layer / cigar skin. Watu Ulo Beach is located about 25 Km from Ambulu Subdistrict and on holidays are usually a lot of young people and family groups who go there for vacation, especially during big days and festivals. They usually go there together with their families using either public transport or private vehicles. Watu Ulo Beach has a stunning panorama overlooking the Indonesian ocean with a row of rocks resembling a snake.
Tanjung Papuma beach with its white sand charm and History Tour of the Cave of Japan. This beach is also known as the White Sand Beach Malikan. Named Papuma because this white sandy beach with a stretch of rocks that when hit by the waves and then disintended each other flipped. Papuma Beach is a very exotic beach when compared with the beach beaches in East Java, because it has beautiful beach and sea with a bluish green beach makes this tourist spot much visited both from Jember residents themselves also from other districts.
Puger Beach is located 15 Km from Ambulu Sub-district. This place is also visited by many people and most are young children to entertain themselves. Puger Beach is also a haven for people who like fishing. On this beach there is also TPI (Fish Auction Place) that sells fish catch fishermen. Around Puger Beach there is also Puger Watangan Nature Reserve with Kucur water source charm. Puger Beach is also an exit gate to Nusa Barong Nature Reserve.
Paseban beach in Kencong area. On this beach tourists can enjoy a sea bath considering the waves are calm and sloping regularly so that no harm.
Bandealit Beach in Meru Betiri National Park area which is administratively entered into Tempurejo District. This beach is adjacent to Sukamade Beach which is the hatchery of turtle eggs.
Patemon Baths located in Tanggul District. In the bath Patemon the air is very cool because it is located in the mountains and the water that flows in the bath is water that comes from the mountain springs, so the water is very cold. On holidays especially on Sundays and public holidays many people visit, ranging from children, young people, to the parents. The baths are becoming more attractive with the addition of a new swimming pool and waterboom rides. In addition to the existing places around the pool has been improved so the more interesting to visit.
Rembangan bath located on one of the top of the mountain, has the attraction of scenery, baths, hotels, and agro tourism in the form of coffee plantations owned PTP Nusantara XII and dairy farms, where you can see the process of milking cows and buy fresh milk cow liters.
